We are proud to continue our research projects, diversify our activities, and be supported by an ever-growing team of staff, volunteers, and partners. This community is essential to the development of the Tadoussac Bird Observatory. In 2025, we had the pleasure of contributing to several scientific articles, welcoming a record number of participants to the Côte-Nord Migratory Bird Festival, and launching our new birdwatching tour offerings. We remain on course and already have a multitude of projects in development and planned for 2026.

Renewed support
We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all the individuals and organizations who played a vital role in the success of our activities this year. First and foremost, to our dedicated team, whose rigorous work and passion for ornithology are at the heart of all our achievements.
A huge thank you to our volunteers, whose generosity and enthusiasm contributed nearly 10,000 collective hours to our research projects. Your presence and commitment are indispensable pillars of our success.
We also wish to express our deep gratitude to our partners, donors, and sponsors. Your continued trust, financial support, and collaboration have been crucial in enabling the implementation of our scientific, educational, and event programs. Many initiatives, such as the Côte-Nord Migratory Bird Festival and our field monitoring activities, would not have been possible without your support.
Finally, we would like to thank the community of ornithologists, researchers, and passionate bird enthusiasts who help bring our mission to life and enhance the impact of the Tadoussac Bird Observatory in the study of avian biodiversity and migrations. By joining forces, we advance scientific knowledge and strengthen our commitment to bird conservation in Quebec.
Scientific development
Over the past few years, we have experienced sustained scientific development aimed at highlighting the wealth of biological data collected in the field. This progress has been made possible thanks to the considerable work of those who have contributed to the Tadoussac Bird Observatory over time, as well as the development of new partnerships. We are proud to contribute to the improvement of our knowledge about Quebec’s birds and are particularly grateful to our partners and collaborators who have made this possible.
The Tadoussac Bird Observatory also stands out for its contribution to large-scale scientific projects, drawing on the expertise accumulated over years of ornithological research. However, we firmly believe that research should be shared. That is why we have also made renewed efforts to disseminate and showcase this research, making it more accessible.
This scientific growth is thus built on a combination of internal expertise and collaborations with researchers and institutions, allowing the Tadoussac Bird Observatory to play an increasingly central role in the study of avian biodiversity and migrations, both in Quebec and across North America.
Building a more diverse and resilient Observatory
In 2024, the launch of our new website marked the beginning of a strategy to develop our communications, both to support our outreach mission and to foster the future growth of our educational activities. In 2025, the site welcomed over 15,000 visitors.
We also chose to expand our tourism offerings, notably through local collaborations, guided hikes and cruises, and the development of our interpretation evenings. This direction stemmed from a reflection on our role in public outreach and the need to increase our resilience to ensure the sustainability of our research projects.
With nearly 2,500 visitors, we can confidently say this initiative has been a success, one we plan to continue and strengthen in 2026. As highlighted in our report, our revenues are now particularly diversified, providing us with greater stability and increased confidence in the continuity of our long-term monitoring programs.
Want to Support Us?
There are many ways to contribute: by joining our teams as volunteers in our research and education programs, by making a donation to our organization, such as sponsoring an owl, or by choosing to purchase eco-friendly products, like Bird Friendly coffee or beer “La Buse” from the Tadoussac microbrewery. You can also become a member of the Explos-Nature corporation, of which the Tadoussac Bird Observatory is a part, your voice matters.
