NCC commissioned us to conduct a bird survey using autonomous recorders (photo) at a site in the Charlevoix region recently acquired by the organization for conservation purposes. The ongoing project will provide insight into the area’s bird community and help establish recommendations for future bird conservation, particularly regarding species at risk.

For the City of Boucherville, the Tadoussac Bird Observatory was commissioned to conduct a complete inventory of nesting birds in the Pierre-Dansereau Woods, the city’s largest natural area (193 ha).
Key results:
Thanks to a rigorous protocol (listening points and transects), we identified areas of high ecological value and provided recommendations for the conservation of this biodiversity refuge in a heavily human-modified urban environment.
